Annual Mature Palm Protection Program
Four scheduled visits. One year of protection.
SAPW can advance inside a palm before severe crown decline is visible. SDPP handles the recurring preventive-treatment schedule so protection does not depend on the owner remembering the next visit.

Protect the palm while there is still time.
- Four scheduled visits per year
- Licensed preventive SAPW treatment
- Visual inspection, repeat photographs, and service records
- SDPP reminders and priority response when symptoms appear
- Direct service from owner and Qualified Applicator John Krause
From my field work
San Diego Botanic Garden called. I was there the next day.
I responded to an active South American palm weevil infestation and carried out licensed protective treatment for Chilean wine palms, Canary Island date palms, and Sylvester palms.

You deal directly with me.
I visit the property, carry out the treatment and keep the photographs and service records. If something changes between visits, call or text me.
After each visit
I keep track of what changes.
I photograph the whole palm and take closer views of the crown. When I return, I compare those views and add the work to the treatment record.
Dated photographs
Whole-palm and crown views, plus visible concerns where access safely permits. Repeat views help us compare changes.
Work and observations
The service performed, visible findings and the history you supplied. An observation is kept separate from a confirmed diagnosis.
The next step
The next scheduled visit and any recommended action. If you see a concerning change between visits, contact me rather than waiting.

Three palms I prioritize
Canary Island date palms first. Chilean wine and Bismarck palms belong in the plan.
Canary Island date palms remain the primary local target. Chilean wine palms and Bismarck palms are also confirmed California hosts, and their value and slow replacement make a preventive review worth discussing.
Canary Island date palm
The headline species for SDPP prevention and treatment because SAPW attacks it most heavily in San Diego.
Chilean wine palm
A slow-growing specimen palm already lost to SAPW in San Diego and worth protecting before visible decline.
Bismarck palm
A high-value specimen and confirmed California SAPW host that should not be left out of a property protection plan.
Palm landscapes
The landscapes worth protecting.
My work starts with Canary Island date palms and extends to valuable Chilean wine and Bismarck palms in private landscapes and botanical collections.
